Default Detail Werkz - 2009 Nissan GTR "Black"

Checkout this recent story posted on glossitonline from Brian Hare from Detail Werkz our premiere Gloss-it Signature Detailer / Paint Correction specialist.

I received a call Thursday from a guy who was traveling in with his new 2009 GTR to have some tuning work performed at a local tuning shop. He asked if I could squeeze him in Thursday to get the car detailed out. I was already booked out with 4 other cars that day but I was not about to miss this opportunity. We scheduled a time and he asked to do our Gloss-It Signature Gloss Level 2 service.

We arrived to find one sick GTR. It had just had over 30K worth of electronics, wheels, turbos, intercoolers..etc. added and was dynoing at 530 to the wheels.

Here is what the GTR looked like before we started our process.

I told the owner that I did not have time for our Platinum Service that includes about an hour of paint correction using the Gloss-It One Step Machine Polish, but I would break down the swirls and holograms by 30-40%. He was ok with that and has already scheduled a full 100% paint correction with me in a month.

We started washing the vehicle using Dawn. We foamed the vehicle with 250 degree water and let it sit for a few mins to break down the dirt and grim that was on the paint.

We washed the vehicle two times before we started the clay bar treatment. It had less than 600 miles on the car and it still had rail dust and other contaminants on the paint. A good claying with Gloss-It Green Claybar did the trick.

Part 2

Once we had the car clayed we again washed it with the Dawn soap to be sure there was no waxed or other protectants on the paint.

Once we had the clay residue off the vehicle it was time to start the drying process.

Now that the car was dried off, stripped of any wax, glaze or polish you could really see the damage in the paint. I knew I was not going to have time to get all this damage out 100%, but was only focusing on 20-30% correction.

Part 3

I started by using the Cyclo and green 4 inch pads with the Gloss-It Evolution Polish. Again I was not trying for full correction. After I removed the Evolution Polish I applied a coat of the Signature Gloss, and topping it with a coat of the Gloss Finish.

Here is a shot of taking off the polish. I applied the polishes by hand on the hard to reach spots like door jambs, the rear wing areas, around the rear tail lights..etc... This insured that every inch of paint on this car was protected. The client also wanted me to hand polish & protect the wheels, so I applied the polishes to the inside, lips and spokes. T.R.V. was applied to the wheel-wells for protection. The Gloss-It Signature Tire Dressing was applied to the tires.

Part 4

And here are the after shots. The client could not believe the transformation and has already lined me up to Gloss up his other 8 vehicles. He just keep saying "WOW..what a transformation...WOW"

Enjoy the shots...

Part 5 Final Conclusion

We did our level 2 package witch includes full interior package. We PH-Cleaned the inside using the Gloss-It Satin Leather Cleaner and protected all the vinyl, plastic and rubber items with the Gloss-It T.R.V. and topped the leather seats with the Gloss-It Satin Leather Polish. We also did a engine detail using only the Gloss-It Signature Tire Dressing. This stuff is AMAZING on engines..since it is water base I did not have to worry about dust attraction and it just coats all areas evenly and just gives an amazing glow.

This was a very enjoyable detail. Hope you enjoyed the photos.

how much HP does that car make? looks like intake and exh. mods...? 550? 600? The wheels must be good for at least 100 I bet. Nice job.

What makes you think it has an offset fail? The wheels look like they are just sitting flush at the lip as far out as they could go without doing stupid ricer tricks such as tire-stretching.

Those wheels are 22"!!!!!! Am I getting shorter or are the cars just getting huge?

Great detail work - black really makes it apparent.

I don't get putting a glossy finish on a factory matte interior. Yuck. But awesome job getting the swirls out, that's hard work and that's not even your 100%? Damn!
