After receiving my order so quickly from Detailers Domain (thanks again, Phil!) I decided to wash my filthy car with Optimum No Rinse to try it out. I used 2 buckets (1 with ONR, 1 as rinse) and 5 microfibers, and cleaned the car panel by panel, and did the wheels last. After drying and using some meg's #34, I have to say I am super impressed! I will be using ONR from now on instead of the old hose and bucket method, this is much faster and more efficient with water.

When you say you used 1 bucket as a rinse, I assume you mean a rinse for the wash mits/rags? How many towels did you use in the drying stage? I have ONR but have not used it yet. After a drive to work tomorrow, I will probably need a wash!

That's what the "2 bucket" method is. Though one bucket works just fine. Using 2 buckets gives you a little more piece of mind if you're hyper concerned about marring. Suggest you put your mitt in the rinse bucket after you make a pass with it, shake vigorously, then squeeze out as much water as possible, then put it in the bucket with the ONR solution, do some more passes and repeat. If you like you can add a small amount of ONR to the rinse bucket to "protect" against diluting the wash bucket solution, that's why I suggested really wringing out the water from the rinse bucket before you put your mitt back in to the wash solution bucket. ONR is one great product.

I use 3 mitts in one 4 gal bucket. I do a pass with the mitt using both sides and then I dump it back into the bucket and pickup another mitt and continue like that rotating through the mitts. That way they get a chance to release their grit which sinks to the bottom of the bucket. To dry, I find that 2 large microfibre waffle weave towels are plenty. One is used to absorb the bulk of the water, and the other to buff dry the rest.

Very cool to read the various methods people have when using Optimum No Rinse.

The soon to be released quick detailer will make an excellent "after ONR" shine and slickness booster.

I used 5 mitts and about 6 microfibers to dry...one bucket was to rinse the mitts as I went, the other had the ONR. It works really well!

ONR is awesome the more I use it the more I get use to it and its gets quicker and quicker each time. I did my P car last night and it was about 25 degrees outside!

I did mine yesterday with 2 warm buckets of water....my wife thinks I've lost it!

+1 on the ONR! I also did mine yesterday for the first time. The car wasn't that dirty, so I just used two microfiber towels, no other rinse. I'm very impressed with the results! Great shine! A friend came towards the end, and he commented on the shine as well. He couldn't believe it was that simple, so I did a panel on my Tundra (which was CAKED with dirt!) in front of him. The results were even more impressive! Needless to say he's placing his order today!
