Default Question about Porter Cable 7424

I just bought a porter cable 7424, the backing plate and some pads to go with it, and I got it in the mail yesterday. I put on the stock pad and turned it on, and it's a little noisy...it rattles a little. Can anyone tell me if this is normal? Is it supposed to be smooth? Thanks,

Steve

It's a random orbital polisher ... don't worry. I've got the 7336 an it works great. Leave the speed control on 4 or 3. Enjoy.

I was unsure myself when I bought mine, so I used my wife's truck (Ford Excursion....WAY too big to do by hand) as the guinea pig. No, I didn't tell her the real reason I was detailing her truck first.

I never used my PC for wax application/removal (I do that by hand), but for clay bar and polish, it's impressive.

You'll be impressed with the results.
