Default Wash options - Mitts vs Sea Sponge

My old sea sponges are getting to where they are finally breaking apart (at least 20 years old). The theory behind using sea sponge is when wet they are extremely soft and suck the dirt inwards. I am trying to decide whether to use a sheepskin mitt, a microfiber mitt, or order a new sea sponge. Cleaning the sea sponge is easy....rinse squeeze and leave it to dry. Thoughts and advice is appreciated.

I always thought sea sponges would hold the dirt and therefore scratch the paint. Had no idea.

That said, microfiber mitts have come a long way in 20 years.

I also have a smaller incredimit in a lighter color for lower panels (rocker panels and bumpers).

Put them in the washer after every wash or every other wash.
