Default Anyone know how to deal with this?

There is a mar in the polished lip of my RS Spyder rim. I think it was caused by the straps tow trucks use to secure cars on flatbeds. Happened before my time but looking for a way to touch this up

Is there a clearcoat on the rim or some kind of coating as I can feel the edges of it where it is brownish? Could I try and cut this off with an exacto knife and then put a drop of nail polish or whatever on it to reseal it?
Thanks

Very hard to see in this picture. If it is small, you can try wet sanding with 1000 or 2000 followed by the typical touch of procedure of paint then clear. If deep then personally I would find a wheel repair company.

Thanks, it is small, maybe 1 cm across. But its not painted its polished. Maybe the wetsanding will still work to get off the marred clear coat

The wheel repair guy who does work at teh Porsche store where I live charges $100 a wheel to fix curb damage. It is well worth it. You can't even tell it was damaged when he is done.

That is a small wheel repair. Around $100 bucks will fix the problem.

Thanks, I know I can take it to a wheel repair guy but looking at a DIY solution. I have fixed alloy wheels before with liquid metal etc but this appears to be a polished lip with some clear on it. Haven't done that before

Was just hoping someone had done this type of touch up and could pass on their wisdom

Cheers
