Default Glass cleaner

What do you guys use?
I have tried Windex Blue, and am currently using Stoners Invisible glass.
Both with varying degrees of success.
Looking for alternate plan C.

Griots window cleaner. Best I’ve found so far. Super simple. Great bottles too.

What matters too is your towel. I either use the Griot’s PFM window cleaning towel which I find to be the best or Rag Company waffle weave towel. Make sure you’re washing your towels with a microfiber detergent and every few years you’re likely going to need to replace your towels. They’re pretty much consumables. Sort of like floor mats in your car. They may look ok but once you replace with fresh ones you realize what you were missing.

I’ve used stoners invisible glass in the past too and it’s fine. Griot’s just has left things less streaky for me.

If you're cleaning the inside I use a 50/50 mix of distilled water and 70% rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle with a glass specific microfiber towel.

What Bxstr said. What I like about Griot\s...other than it works really well with the proper microfiber cloth...is that it comes in non-aerosol spray bottles. I still have a can of Stoner's in aerosol, and the stuff floats all over the place -- so I use it for household use like the storm doors, etc.

Gyeon PREP, or CarPro Clarify.
Rag Co. ~200 ish GSM. - The key is to tackle the inside of the glass from time-to-time as well.

I have a love hat with Waffle Weave window specific towels; sometimes they glide well over the glass, and other times they seem to get hung up on the glass, without gliding easily - no rhyme or reason that I can pin down. This style would be preferred, bc they work really well… well, when they work.

Exactly what I’ve been doing for the past 15 years and have at least a dozen concours wins with zero point loss on glass hazing or smudges. I use the same approach for exterior too. The new Griots blue Glass Towels are excellent BTW.

Default In my humble opinion

The polish followed by the cleaner has produced the absolute best results I have ever experienced. Always follow up with a freshly washed 100% cotton diaper without any fabric softener. Shine Supply is still a small privately held business.

Default So Frustrated...

I am pulling my hair out trying to get the streaks out and it feels like I'm just moving the greasy film around. I use Porsche leather conditioner so there must be some off gassing going on as well on the dash. Chemical Guys has several products, none one of which are doing it for me. Ceramic isn't the answer either. the "Glass Only" is foam alcohol and propane and like a nuke warhead, still leaves streaks. "Streak Free" leaves them too. Using CG clean waffle cloths but can never quite get the streaks out.

Griots seems to be getting lots of votes on this old thread. Any other thoughts? Pro detailers out there?

A combination of tools + technique is the answer! Twisted loop towel, good glass cleaner = success!

After having tried numerous cleaner/towel combinations over the years on my windows, I think I have finally found what I was looking for. I recently bought the Esoteric Glass Cleaner, a new product for 2024, and it works fabulous, at least in my situation. I have been using it for about two-three weeks as required during the week and the results are amazing with any type of microfiber towel and even Bounty paper towels. I have tried it on clean and dirty windows and the results are always the same, clean and streak free. No reason for me to go any further as this works, period. Some of the marketing out there is like buying 'Snake Oil' and each brand is convinced theirs is the best, of course it is, as they must market their product in order to sell it. The consumer has no clue until he/she buys it and makes their own decision. Bottom line they got you to buy it, job done.
I have no affiliation with the Esoteric Team and they don't advertise this product as being the 'Holy Grail' of glass cleaners, it just does great job for me in my situation. Now I have clean, streak free windows on both my vehicles, inside and out!
