Default Interior Steam Cleaner?

I'm looking for a steam cleaner I can use to deep clean the carpeting on my cars.

is there something out there for the DIY enthusiast that doesn't break the bank?

Appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks!

I’m pretty sure most high end detailers shampoo rather than steam clean. There are carpet brushes you can buy that fit orbital polishers. I assume Adams and Griots sell the soap.

Something like the Bissel little green machine is a great bang for your buck "extractor." It's portable and will take care of cars that are moderately dirty. If you want to go even more budget-friendly a drill brush attachment, carpet cleaner, and shop vac will do just fine.

What does break the bank mean?

The McCulloch MC1275 is around $175.00. It gets solid reviews and I've read results from r/AutoDetailing that indicate it's fine for basic use. There are some negative posts indicating an overuse of plastic and some breakage.

Personally, I'm looking at a Dupray One or Dupray Tosca. Still debating which one and if I really need one.

I would go with a Dupray if you really want the best of the best. Oftentimes when I buy a product like that, I enjoy using it a bit more if it is a well designed machine. However, if I am using it once a year, spending $175 instead of $1k sounds good.

I bought the Dupray Tosca and can say it is amazing.

Took out my seats and leather to deep clean my carpet - more of a refresh than an actual need. On medium or low the steam made the fibers amazing.

Used it on low with a microfiber covered triangle tool and my interior trim and doors came out amazing.

There are literally hundreds of uses for a steam cleaner in the car and around the house.

My detailer shared some pointers:

Don't use any unprotected wands on this thing on high anywhere near leather - they leave an irreparable streak.

Also, low heat minimal contact to perforated leather seat bases, if at all. The steam can melt and wick some of the glue in the perforated seat to the surface.

Strong recommendation for the Tosca.
