A few of us went out there yesterday. Sorry, no formal board announcement. Despite the fact that we are running on the base surface (top coat is going down in June), the surface has settled a lot in the last couple of months and is a lot grippier. The first building is up, they finished the retaining wall for the pit lane the graded the pit lane. We did 3 sessions, alternating with bikes. With the better surface, we were able to run a lot hotter. You can really plan with the balance on the hills. I can't wait to run when the curbing goes down (in June).

As of tomorrow, they will be closing the track down to just members. No more free rides. Members won't be paying monthly or daily dues until they are in full operating mode in July. They are setting up the first corner worker stations. For the next couple of months, they will have corner workers on member days. Members will be charged the cost of corner workers ($5 - $25 a member, depending on how many attend) to cover costs.

Today is the last day to join and get the 20% discount on memberships. The Junior Membership also goes away form being offered on July 1. I pulled the trigger and joined as a Junior Member last week.
