Default Eagles Canyon Raceway tour... next tour March 3rd.

If you missed the last Eagles Canyon Raceway tour... next tour March 3rd.

David and Linda Cook have been kind enough to invite us out for another tour prior to the track opening.

I have arranged with Linda Cook the date of March 3rd.

If there is any rain including drizzle, the rain delay date will be March 10th. If we are to postpone due to rain, I will post the delay here before 8:00am the morning of March 3rd.

As before, the plan is to meet at a Starbuck's in Plano in the morning being ready to leave at 10:30 am. I would plan to be there at 10:00am to get your morning coffee before we head out.

Starbucks
5960 West Parker Road
Plano, TX 75093

As before, we are going to stop for lunch at the historic Clarks Outpost northeast of Lake Ray Roberts in Tioga and should be at the track around 1:15-1:30 pm.

We will make the drive to the track fun. I have added an extra 30 minutes from our last tour to add a few more curves on 455. We plan to take hwy 75 north to 455. Then 455 west to Clarks Outpost. After lunch we’ll continue down 455 to Eagles Canyon Raceway.

Clarks Outpost
101 Highway 377 at Gene Autry Drive
Tioga, Texas 76271
(940) 437-2414

In order to drive on the track we will need to sign a waver. I will provide these at Starbucks the morning of.

A special thanks to the David and Linda Cook for this opportunity.

If you plan on attending, please post here for a courtesy head count. I’ll take care of the lunch reservation.

See you a Starbucks,

Kevin Hughes

Same pace as before... Were you going at Parade Lap speeds? Once we got a feel for the track we picked up the speed a little. The curbing and runoff areas are not complete and there will be no emergency staff on hand, so we have to keep the speeds within safe limits. Its not a track day... We are all required to sign a waver, so its at our own rist.

Oh, and I'm not speaking as a representative of the Eagles Canyon Raceway.

All the best,

Kevin Hughes

This sounds great. By the way- Maverick Region PCA has booked May 12-13 for a two day DE at ECR. We also will have a DE two weeks later at MSR during the Memorial Day weekend in conjunction with the club race for 3 days at a very special low price. -Keith

Drivers Edge is scheduled for May 5-6.
Might be good to get some laps, so you won't look too much like a n00b at PCA.

I'll should be at both the TDE and PCA EC DE's... although I'm not sure anyone can really decipher what I just said.

I'd responded to Kevin's post on the old thread, thought I'd re-confirm/subscribe to this one.

Hi David,

Based on the last tour I would say 1:00pm ish... We're leaving 30 minutes earlier to add a few more turns on the way, running 455 from hwy 75 this time. That's 90 minutes to travel approximately 90 miles and an hour for lunch.

All the best,

Kevin

Default Bring a Radio

I would suggest everyone bring a two way radio if you have one. I'm not sure how many cars we'll have. This will help keep us together on the way.

A cheap 22 channel radio will do. If you don't have one you should be able to pick up a pair for less than $25.

All the best,

Kevin
