Tioga/Sonora Pass Tour
Saturday, July 29th @ 10:00 A.M. is the meeting time for 'The Happy Hubby Tour'.
This should be a pleasing tour for everyone.
We will leave the 'Target Center' on the corner of 'Claribel' [Hiway #219] and Oakdale Roads in Riverbank [north side of Modesto].
The first part [leg] will be a liesurely cruise out Hiway #120 through Tuolumne Meadows, Olmstead Point and over Tioga Pass [9,946'].
Lunch will be @ 'Whoa Nellie Deli' which is located at the corner of Hiway #120 and Hiway #395, just outside of Lee Vining [at the Chevron Station].
There will be plenty of photo stops on the first leg. The posted speed limits in the Park [Yosemite National Park] are quite low and we will be observing them because the distraction of the scenery is too much for most.
The second leg, after lunch will be a little more spirited but not before we turn off of Hiway #395 onto Hiway #108 and heading toward Sonora Pass.
There is no entry fee to join the drive but there is a $20.00 entry fee for the Park. I tried to get a discount for a quantity of cars, but no go.
