Champaign-Urbana shop rec
2005 911 C2. I broke the nipple off the side tank of the DS radiator. Need a shop to replace. Hanson's Garage is listed on some sites, but maybe I just need to take it to a dealer in Peoria or Springfield?

Hey -- curious if you ended up using Hanson's? I'm considering buying a used Macan, but Hanson's is the only shop in the region that advertises they can work on Porsche. However, I can't find any reports of any experiences about them from Porsche owners (or, really, any imports they advertise -- all the Google reviews sound like basic routine stuff on regular cars). Really wish we had a Porsche dealer in CU.

I didn't. My car sat in his lot for about 3-4 weeks, and several times he told me that the part would be in "tomorrow/soon". I asked that he use OE parts, but one time he called and said the radiator he got from O'reilly's didn't fit. I'm not sure how he knew this since he didn't even take the bumper off, but you don't get Porsche parts from those chains. I wound up towing it to Isringhausen in Springfield. They charged me about what I expected him to, and they did it in a couple days. Hanson's was nice enough, I don't think they really wanted to do it.
Good luck with the Macan.
Good luck with the Macan.

Thanks for the update — I'm glad to know what's up (and what's not) with Hanson's. I'm probably going to go a different direction given the lack of service options locally. I was focusing on Macan for a daily driver, but a DD needs local service. If you find a viable option in town, I'll be interested!
