Where can I learn about MES? I will need it for my new business and I need to know more about it.

I suppose you won't find too much info about MES in books, since those systems are too complex but flexible

Just make sure to do your due diligence on provider - plenty of immature product offerings out there that will be happy to take your money to fund their development on universally necessary functionality that they should already have if they want to call themselves an "MES". A lot of answers to questions tend to be "sure, it can do that" when what the developer means is really "it doesn't yet do that but I can program anything with enough of your time and money so yeah, it can do that".

Also a big scope question is to determine if you are going to tie it in to your MRP system or not.
