Hi, i am currently looking into buying this 2008 Cayenne S 4.8L V8, i went and looked at it today and its very clean and in great condition cosmetically and the price is right. The engine is making a knocking noise as you can hear in the video below, what do you guys think? i did my research and couldn't find anything helpful, please let me know your thoughts, thanks.

I wouldn't buy a V8 4.8 again. Engine replaced at 40k kilometres because of bore scoring (8th cylinder) and 4 hpfp's in 150k kms. Especially the bore scoring is disturbing because i talked to quite a lot of 4.8 owners (also 958 and panamera) and those who had ticking noises were caused by bore scoring on the 8th cylinder. So it seems like a design flaw by Porsche. No fix is provided, you can have your engine rebuild by an independant specialist for 14k dollar. They however do fix the issue permanently by replacing the cylindee walls by stronger materials. If you really want one, go for the 3.6 vw vr6 engine. Or the 955 pre facelift turbo.
