Put a deposit on a boat today
2003 23' Hurricane SunDeck. So, we're going by the dealership tomorrow to see if we can get some of the wiring to connect the trailer's electronics. Wish me luck. I'll post pictures sometime next week.

From another post...........
You might like to take a copy of this to the boat dealer for the trailer hook up..
" have just connected my race car trailer to the Cayenne. You'll need a plug adapter in the rear. You'll also need a male plug for the break controller. Your Porsche dealer should be able to help you with these.
On the driver side, right above the break pedal, remove a screw and then remove the black plastic cover. On the left side, you'll find a 4 wire plug which is for the break controller.
pin 1 is ground
pin 2 is permanent power
pin 3 is the break signal for the controller
pin 4 is the break output (goes to the tow bar socket)
Once you get the right plugs, it is straightforward. I'm using a "drawtite activator" break controller."
Good luck & happy boating :-)

We picked up our boat yesterday. This is my first time towing anything of consequence, so I was a little nervous. The Cayenne did quite well. I could definitely tell that I had 5,000 pounds of boat behind me, especially when the trailer hit a bump, but the brakes handled it quite well. Accelleration certiainly wasn't the same, but it wasn't terrible.
We averaged about 10mpg on our 20 minute drive home through a combination of highway and stop-and-go traffic. We averaged about 15mpg on the highway. Backing the 23' boat into our driveway was interesting. That was probably the hardest part. I'm going to need to practice on a slow week day at the boat ramp.
Haven't had a chance to upload photos yet, but here's one from the manufacturer's web site:

Nice Boat Jim, can't wait for your own photos! I am still considering buying a trailerable Sailboat. Since my wife recently has given up on Sailing this opens the door for boats that were out of the question i.e. no head.
