Can somebody who's already done it tell me what all I need to tow a ~3,000 lb boat with a Cayenne S with tow package?

Nothing much... For 3K you can put on the small ball assembly and you probably don't need a trailer with brakes.

I think he means 3,000 pounds. If your only going to pull 3,000 pounds you may not need trailer brakes and you can use a small hitch ball.

Your load is 3000lb boat + 1200-1500lb trailer + plus gas @6lb per gallon.

This is a class II large ball assembly that requires lights and trailer brakes.

There is a recent post on another thread (Doug H, Towing is great???)concerning a brake light controller that sounds interesting.
