Burning Brakes
Fyi, you can probably do just pads and sensors...........not rotors everytime. I am about on my third set of pads rotors and hardware but same rotors.
Living in Austin, my 4 yr avg mph is 14 in city and 17 on highway......and about 12k miles a year. 4 yr average

Its not me, its' Austin. The city is built like Boston.......no perpendicular roads anywhere. The city is only willing to build internal infrastructure and burb based rail lines that still take 1 hours to commute to and fro into the city.
Needless to say, the only fast car you should invest in while being an Austin resident is a track car. There is never a time to utilize a fast car in the city, unless driving the hill country.

Any comments how your brakes been so far? Not the best parts to be honest pal.
I just placed my order for a complete front and rear brake job on my 2008 Cayenne GTS. I got EVERYTHING from Amazon, even though it took a full day of searching for part numbers. Here is a list of everything I bought at the price at time of purchase:
The grand total including shipping (Prime membership pays for itself in one order! LOL) was $610.76 Of course, that total includes the triple square tool set. I also ordered the spring tool from trakjunq. The brake workshop light just came on yesterday. I'll get to work as soon everything arrives. The hardware kits are shipping from CA to SC, so it will probably be next week before I am able to begin.

This is our family wagon more likely to tow a trailer than see a race course, so you know...the brakes are every bit as important either way.

I only use water, a good auto washing soap, a toothbrush (hard bristle) and good old cotton terry cloths. I'm sure this comment will draw flak but - I believe if you use harsh cleaners containing solvents you risk damaging the calipers and pads (shorten the life of the pad).

You are correct. The Hawk pads are absolute crap. There is very little brake dust and no squealing, but they don't grip nearly as well as the factory compound. I even followed the bedding in procedure. I believe at this point it would be worth the $200 it would cost me to swap out for a full set of Pagid pads.
