Again.

Hasn’t happened since I have been up north, I was hoping the colder air/higher oxygen content would keep the engine happy!

I asked the dealer to address this during my visit for new rear tires tomorrow. They agreed!

Furthermore they confirmed the loaner would be a Cayenne, which is a nice change from the white base Macans I have had!

CEL is gone after multiple restarts. It has done this in the past. Sometimes the CEL remains active. In any case, the dealer will look at it tomorrow.

I think the battery is not the cause because I see 14V + on the MFD. It could be the LPFP, O2 sensor or catalysts. I am at 79k miles so this is the last hurrah for the 80k emissions warranty.

SA called and they found the stored code. He asked me when I had most recently refueled (on the weekend sometime) and if the fuel level had gone down to the "fuel light on" level (no). Car has a half tank of fuel at the moment. Seems fuel related; seems LPFP related.

The car 100% for sure has the purge valve rattle/knock when the tank is full and the vehicle is idling in Drive. CPO doesn't cover "noises" so the rattle/knock wasn't fixed last time.

No action taken, they are valeting the car back to me. "The failure appeared only once." "We have done all of the tests on the fuel system and the car at the moment is behaving normally."

If it happens again they want me to bring the car in as soon as possible so they can read the data.

My cayenne was at the dealership 7 different times in 80,000 miles to point out coolant level dropping. It was inspected, scanned, vacuum lines checked etc etc and always told that “no faults present and all vehicles use some coolant”. This went on until the pump failed and my water temp shot up to 255F. Then $7000 repair was done and guess what my coolant level doesnt move anymore.

This car has used small bits of coolant since brand new. I added 0.5 liters of coolant as early as 8000 miles. Porsche knew fully well these stupid pumps are ****ty and they used them anyways.

Our fuel pump also failed (high pressure side) around 30k miles. It started interminenntly showing CEL 18,000 miles mark but CEL would go off later. Porsche didnt do **** until CEL was persistent.

This is the way it is. It is all BUSINESS. Greed greed greed greed.

Again.

Absolutely related to gas tank level. Last night was a fillup and first drive today = PAS not available, ACC not available and CEL with reduced power.

Days like today make me want to dump this piece of garbage.

@pbon for long term ownership consider the possibility of needing to drop the fuel tank to replace the LPFP and canister assembly. Worst worst case might require new fuel tank, which has been done under original manufacturer warranty with a field bulletin. I am at 81k miles with 8 months of CPO which does not cover the fuel rattling noise but might cover the CEL and reduced power if I can bring it to the dealer with the CEL lit.

I scanned codes and they are P0420 and P0430. So both banks catalysts below target efficiency.

I took it to the dealer as they requested, next time there is an active CEL. They confirmed the efficiency faults and told me to drive the car so it collects more data. The PCM indicated 1 CEL occurrence and they want to see more occurrences.

I drove 40 minutes home from the dealer, changed the oil (as I had planned to do) and now the CEL is off.

We are headed to the East Coast for Easter and I will bring my iCarsoft with me. I won't clear the codes so the dealer can take another look. They booked me in for a loaner on 4/24 but I might be traveling. We shall see!
