‘21 Pepper, when I use the tailgate close button (non-lock) on the underside of the tailgate it closes as it should but when I press the close/lock button it only closes half way and stops. Any suggestions? I was on a road trip when I first experienced it and when I got home and emptied the cargo area and tested it again I got the same results.
is there a way to reset the tailgate system?

I’ve searched and the only things I’ve found were related to the opening height.

 

Where is your key fob? I believe the key fob has to be in close proximity to the car for the lock button to work on the tailgate. I have noticed once or twice when I didn't have the key fob nearby and I tried to lock the car via the tailgate, it only went down halfway.

 

This. You're probably walking out of range too fast. Check your key fob battery.
