Default Help deciphering PDLS + part numbers

Crazy story. I bought a 2019 Cayenne S with 24k miles on it. It's immaculate. Driving around the first few days I notice that the headlights don't turn with the wheel. This car has Premium Plus package with the matrix PDLS+ lamps, so it must be an electrical problem and the aftermarket warranty will take care of it. I take it to the local dealer and guess what they tell me? The headlights have Chinese markings on them. So, at some point the prior owners replaced the OEM lamps with something less. The seller (car dealer) is working with me on getting the right ones in there and I'm talking to a few dismantlers. The problem is figuring out the part numbers so I don't put "less than" versions in the car. In all the cases, I'd buy full assemblies with the modules.

The option codes are easy: PDLS = 8IS and PDLS + = 8IU

The part numbers going back in time is a tough one. Can anyone tell me if the 035/036 are the same as the 077/078? The Porsche dealer and online parts sellers like Suncoast show the 077/078 as the current version with references to earlier 077/078 as well as all the 035/036 ones. I'll thank ChatGPT and MS Copilot for the research and BB Code formatting

After all, based on your VIN, you can determine what headlights were originally installed in your Cayenne and what is the new PNs they were replaced by. I don't see headlights marked 035/036 anywhere in the Porsche Cayenne parts catalog.

I'd absolutely agree with what that list in the picture shows, but then I see stuff like this picture below. I have also found some info that said the 35/36 don't include Matrix while the 77/78 do have matrix.

I think that 035/036 are Matrix. However these PNs do not exist in current parts catalogs. The key is to determine the PNs of the headlights originally fitted to your car by the factory. Any Porsche dealer should be able to determine this without any problem based on your VIN.
Remember that if you originally had standard LEDs fitted, you probably won't be able to install Matrix headlights and vice versa.

For anyone chasing this down later: I talked to a dealer's parts dept. They can't find the 035/037 anywhere in their catalog, even for older cars as retom points out. He said what's stamped/etched on the housing should be the 077/078 but sometimes Porsche puts a different number on the printed label. My car originally came with the 077-H that was changed to the 077-P back in march of 2019 and is the current version.

All that said.... I have seen printed labels for the 077-H as well as the 035-H, so it's a bit of a mystery.
