Default What Spark Plug Socket for 2019 Cayenne V8 Turbo

I am having difficulty finding the right spark plug socket for my 2019 Cayenne V8 turbo.

The socket that everyone seems to be using for the V6 Cayenne is not fitting over my spark plugs.

Is there a specific brand of spark plug socket that needs to be used for the V8 turbo spark plugs?

It needs to go on the thicker insulator style spark plug

Please post several well focused photos of the socket you are trying to use.

This one with the mechanical fingers that grip the insulator worked well for me (not the magnetic variants):

Let us know how the spark plug job goes on the V8. The other guy who tried it and posted about it on this forum said it was a nightmare. I have about 3000 miles to decide what to do with the GTS.

I did the plugs on my Turbo. It was definitely a PITA and took 4 hours or so. But it was doable.

Yup, thin wall did it. Thanks

As a side note, this thread https://rennlist.com/forums/718-gts-...equired-2.html discusses that a $150 porsche socket (later to be found for $45 on Amazon) is required for 718 spyders. I get the distinct feeling that Porsche is trying to squeeze us DIY types completely out of the business.

So far I have used about 2 hours to get to one side. My estimate is that it could be done in less than 2 hours both sides next time I do it.
