I just noticed this sound my engine is making. From what I researched seems to be a tick. Can you guys tell me what you think the noise is?

Maybe valve lifters? My car (32k miles) sometimes makes a similar sound at idle, but it disappears when accelerating away from idle. I’ve been in other Cayennes having the base engine with much more prevalent ticking.

Sounds like a classic valve lifter ticking. They are supposed to be self adjusting. If this has been ticking for a while, I don’t believe there is any solution other than replacing the faulty lifter.
