2021 Cayenne E-Hybrid Charging Issue
Coming from an 08 S that I owned for almost 10 years, I talked myself quite easily into an E-Hybrid as it gets me to town and back without burning any gas and will be a great winter vehicle - we live in the Colorado mountains.
So day 2 of ownership of this CPO vehicle, after driving a few miles, I got a CEL, with no apparent misbehaviour of the electric or oily bits, including charging when back home
My general purpose OBD II scanner revealed a P0E5E fault code. There could of course be OEM codes as well, but my Durametric appears not to support it - does it in fact make some sense of OEM codes or not.
That code is "Battery Charger Control Module A Performance" according to my scanner.
It cleared as I powered it up today, fully charged, and came back after about 5 miles.
I've spoken to the Service Dept. and they're doing some homework, so it doesn't sound common.
Does anyone have any experience of this happening and the troubleshooting that identified what was amiss?
A system diagram for the charging side of things would be helpful - there's the external charging port, taking AC and converting it to DC and charging circuitry taking power from the drive / generator. Some background would help me discuss with the Service Dept as they're rather more than an hour away and a spot of planning would reduce the pain.

@Needsdecaf I'm prepared to believe that as it's an interesting system architecture in the early days of implementation, so with lots of scope for optimisation (aka fixing software bugs.
Do you have a scanner that reads OEM as well as standard codes or do you do what I did on my old Cayenne - if it was behaving, I just drove it?

But generally, I've called / texted my Service Advisor and say: do I bring it in? Usually he says "don't bother". Then says "welcome to hybrid ownership"

@Needsdecaf I've bought a Foxwell NT-710 with Porsche software and it's provided an OEM code that linked to a tech service bulletin laying out a campaign to update the software in the charging controller. There are no open campaigns on my beast, but it has the pre-campaign software. That sounds like something worth doing!
