I bought an iPhone 15 Pro Max before I had heard that some have bluetooth issues. Yesterday, I finally went into the Apple store, where they told me that the bluetooth issue is not on that many 15's, to get it activated. The phone paired fine yesterday, but the My Porsche App won't work anymore. I called Porsche, and they had me do a full factory reset on my car. I should have thought about that and photographed all my settings. Post reset, still not working. I spent three calls on the phone with them. Now their "team will get back to me tomorrow or the next day."
This afternoon, Carplay stopped working. Finally unpaired and re-connected the phone, which took at least three times. Finally, Carplay came back, and we'll see how long it stays. Not a happy camper. If this continues, I wonder if a 14 Pro Max would solve this problem. If so, I am getting rid of the 15 and I'll buy a used 14 Pro Max, since they don't sell new ones anymore. I am not sure why a later phone with the same update should be different. Maybe Porsche can't adapt their app to the update.

I was concerned when I read about potential issues with the Iphone 15max / pro but thankfully, when I upgraded from the 14 pro to 15 max pro, I have had no issues. It did take 2 attempts to pair successfully (first time paired but didn't connect, deleted phone from PCM and retried, all good). So far so good!
Good luck with yours.
Are you not able to connect wired for carplay while the software gets fixed? I'm on iOS18 PB and its solved a lot of connectivity issues for me other carplay vehicles and my Tesla. I dont have my CS yet.

the new iphone 16 will be here in about a month if u have issues why not return the 15 and get a 16. going back to a 14 seems silly.
word of caution: i installed the ios PB (public beta) once. what a nightmare. my peacock subscription never worked again. got escalated to tier 3 support at apple. they said the issue was 100% on the peacock side. peacock said it was on the apple side, however, w peacock there is no way to escalate to the peacock support tiers that really know what is going on so they just give u 3 free months. india call center deal with all pre canned and scripted phrases. everyone i talked to was a npc. i tried 3 times, to get the issue resolved, kept all the chat logs. apple would not do anything to push peacock. finally went back off the ios beta, but by then i was so pissed w peacock i won’t subscribe to them ever again so we use my girlfriend’s sister’s account now. all ghetto.
another note: porsche was one of the first to support the extended carplay functions where u can control the ambient lighting and hvac from car play.

What makes this an iPhone 15 issue, if iOS is the same between iPhone 14 and 15? Is it the “A16 bionic chip” in the 15 compared with the A15 in the 14 phone?
There should be a difference between iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro (Max or not) because Apple uses a different Bluetooth and WiFi module in iPhone 15 Pro (according to ifixit teardown. This could explain the stories about more issues with 15 vs. prior models. However, this by itself does not mean there are widespread or generic issues. Anecdotally, there are issues with iPhones/CarPlay/Porsche (or other car makers) regardless of the hardware version. There are also plenty of people who have next to zero issues with their iPhone and CarPlay. I have an iPhone 14 Pro that worked flawlessly for months in my '24 Cayenne S. No issues whatsoever using CarPlay or the phone, wired or wirelessly.
Two weeks ago, issues started. There were no changes to the phone (no new iOS update) or the PCM. CarPlay would disconnect (I feel like there was a correlation with my use of Waze, but I could be wrong) and reconnect automatically after 20-30 seconds. Or, it would disconnect and not reconnect until my next drive. Sometimes, the phone (not just CarPlay) would completely disconnect. Four days ago, things changed again: everything is working flawlessly again. Hmm!
I absolutely agree with others posting here: return the iPhone 15 and order a new 16 in two weeks. Makes most sense, imho. I hope all problems disappear for you!
Finally got my wireless Carplay to work. The My Porsche App doesn't work. I think that the app isn't updated for the 15. Even with the same software, the 15 hardware is where the issues lie. My concern about a 16 is that it may have the same issues as the 15. I'm not sure I can take it back. I bought it and let it sit for about four months due to the concerns about all the issues with Porsche and the 15. Especially after the dealer SA told me that they do have a lot of issues with the 15. I do miss the app....mostly a toy, but nice to be able to lock and unlock, vent before getting in, and finding it in a parking lot. Maybe Porsche will get it fixed. My old iPhone Xs Max worked fine. The battery just didn't quite make it into the evening anymore. It would drop Carplay and reconnected a fair amount.

@mafpolo I live in an urban environment, I have an iPhone 14 pro, and I get a lot of wireless CarPlay drops while streaming content. My understanding is that the dropping is due to the phone trying to use the car's wifi connection for data, and the data via the car's connection isn't up to the task in certain urban environments. You can get the iPhone to use your cellular network's data while connected to wifi, however I haven't bothered setting this up because it sounded like it takes a few steps and like you sometimes have to repeat those steps to get it going again. I just quit using CarPlay, and use bluetooth only. Kind of annoying, but my girlfriend is real active w her phone, and lets her phone connect to the CarPlay. but overtime the audio drops in the city, she starts commenting, and I continually have to remind her, it isn't stable in the city.
As far as the iPhone 16, someone will do a tare down and confirm if the bluetooth / wifi radio module(s) are the same as what is in the 15, or different. I plan on getting the 16 pro or pro max, and my girlfriend does too. I will probably get her the 16 pro max first, and then we can test with that phone to see if it is all systems go. then get one myself subsequently depending.
Yeah, 15 Pro Max on a '19 that's wired. It's a crap shoot. It'll go days just fine, then not connect on cold start. Recently, the whole PCM system has frozen (touchscreen is unresponsive and the row of touch controls goes dark, and the dial is unresponsive) and then it reboots. All-together, 4-5 minutes of nothing. If the whole system doesn't lock, removing the car from CarPlay will usually work.
