Default Summary of Cayenne vs Cayenne Coupe?

Hi all,

I'm having a surprisingly hard time finding a summary of all the differences between the standard and coupe models. Anyone have a source? For example ride heigh, rear head room, cargo volume, suspension, sunroof, I think I even heard the seats are mounted lower in a Coupe?!

Likely looking at 2019-2023s.

Thanks

You didn’t specify which generation; the 2019-2023 (9Y0.1) or the 2024 9Y0.2.

Here’s the differences of the 9Y0.1. I expect the 9Y0.2 to be similar.

Besides the obvious cargo capacity difference, here are a few more differences with the Coupé:

1. Coupé comes standard with panoramic sunroof. Unlike the SUV, the Coupé’s sunroof is fixed and will not open.
2. No wiper for the rear window.
3. Windshield is more steeply raked.
4. Roof is .78” lower.
5. Rear fenders are 0.7” wider to give a more aggressive stance. Therefore, the rear wheels have a different offset to give it a 0.7” wider track.
6. Rear seats are mounted 1.2” lower to allow headroom for the lower roofline. Seating for two vs 2+1.
7. Different standard equipment.

Great, thanks for the links.

Today we drove a new regular Cayenne and a 2023 Cayenne Coupe. The Coupe def felt more familiar and sporty/cozy but it also had sport seats.

We sat in both seats to decide. Some people strongly prefer the sport vs the comfort and vice versa so you might want to sit in both. if you like the massage feature i think that only comes for the comfort seats? other thing to note, the comfort seats have adjustable headrest that moves in and out, so if there is a female that wears pony tails etc. they might like the adjustable head rest.

Big difference in seats. The standard 4 way Sport and the 18 Ways are built on the same seat platform. Both will have more aggressive side bolsters. The 14-ways are on a different seat chassis and less aggressive, easier to get in and out of. Be sure to try them out before you buy, there is quite a difference. Slim and anyone who wears say a Large will be fine in the Sports and 18-ways, XL and larger most likely will prefer the 14 way Comfort seats.

If you want a Sunroof that opens and max cargo space, get the standard model. Definitely recommend the Air Ride on any model Cayenne, it will make the ride much nicer.

My 2021 GTS (21K miles) is for sale in Virginia. I have a 2025 Cayenne Coupe S Hybrid on order. PM me if it interests you.

One more, the Coupé roof rack cross bars don’t require roof rails be optioned for install. They install into keyed holes inside the top edge of the door openings.

This also means you can buy the factory cross bars and use them on any Coupé without worrying about if the original order added the bars or not.

Good info. We'll need to sit in more seats it sounds like.

Are the coupe and standard ride heights and (base) suspension the same? Eg, is the fact that the top of the coupe is lower purely due to the lower roofline of the car/chassis itself?

I have both in the garage. A ‘20 Turbo Coupe, and a 23 Turbo S hybrid (wife). The only difference that bothers me a bit is there is more visual of the road directly in front of the car. More difficult to see the curb in those tight downtown garages with tight circular ramps and the like. Probably would not be as bothered if I drove her car more and got a better feel. Also I have a Cargraphics lowering module so sitting about half inch lower than stock at garage ramp speed. But pretty sure there would still be a difference. Its a pretty dramatic difference. Even she noticed driving my car. Still love both cars.

There's also small key differences mechanically and visually, like F/R wheel offsets, rear fender width, etc.

Also some options are standard on the coupe, but extra money on the SUV. It all depends on how it's spacced out.

What is the reason for the difference in visibility? Purely the ride height? I assume the lowering module is for air suspension? Thanks

Well you got me curious so I went in the garage and measured both cars from the floor to the lower front edge of the hood at park. Both air ride. I know the hybrid raises a bit at startup. The coupe does not with the module. Every thing else looks about the same by eyeballing. So maybe it is just a inch or so at ride height makes a more pronounced difference on road view. Maybe like a small adjustment in a rifle sight makes a big difference farther out??? O can’t say for sure other both my wife and I observed the road view difference was quite noticeable.
