Default 2024 Cayenne Coupe Vs 2023/2022

I'm considering purchasing a Porsche for the first time and leaning towards a new 2024 Cayenne Coupe Base.

Looking at the used market, there are quite a few 2022 and 2023 Coupes that are considerably less.

just wanted to get some thoughts and opinions on this. I understand there were some changes made in 2024.

thanks

If you are new to the brand, get the latest and greatest. You will likely have it for a while. If you have been around the block or budgeting, one of the early models ages like fine wine.

I have always been a fan of letting someone else take that initial depreciation hit, unless there is something that stands out to you on the 2024 after a bit of tire kicking. My 958 feels a bit long in the tooth and I am looking for a Turbo Coupe. My suggestion would be to make list of what is a "have to have" and work from there, as it tends to narrow the universe significantly -- or at least it does for me. Depending on your list, you may find the same thing.

Agree with the posts above.

2024 interior has many examples of cheapening, skimping and corner-cutting vs 2023 and earlier.

But the 2024 is a new car, 2023 and earlier are pre-owned cars. The choice is yours. Can't go wrong with any choice, noting the differences in impact to wallet and the lesser interior quality.

I too prefer somebody taking the initial depreciation. That said, it's hard to find exactly what you want....color, options, etc. I also like to be disciplined and set an amount I want to spend and find the nicest vehicle at that number. In 2018 I bought a 2015 Cayenne Diesel (CPO), and I loved it. Recently I bought a 2021 Cayenne S. I looked for a turbo, but my number 1 thing in a car is color....interior and exterior. Every turbo I liked had a black interior. The more I drive this S, the more I like it. Only thing I don't like is the Spyder wheels. They look good, but a pain to clean. Good luck. The Coupes are beautiful. If I had to start over, I'd look for a couple.

Disciplined.... yeah me too. Definitely. LOL (sorry trying to convince myself).

Color is important to me as well (which is why I am flirting with other brands now, a San Paulo Yellow x4m comp seems to be calling my name), as I can't seem to get that itch scratched right now (mmmm lava). While I tend to want something more standout /bold now, I am actually bit more flexible on the exterior if i can get everything else checked off, as long as it isn't silver and to a lesser extent black. The interior, however, I can't tell you the number of vehicles that ticked every box, but had red/other loud interiors or were chalk that I was worried about getting dirty and I had to nope out. As per wheels, while having something I am happy with is a plus, it is something that I generally assume I am going to change in the first month.

What I am finding is that the driving tech/options are really hit or miss, which is a bit annoying. I don't need night vision, but if it doesn't have lane change/lane keep for instance, I then find the justification over a lower milage older model hard to justify.

Hey there
Ive had the 2024 Cayenne Coupe Base for about a month now. I originally had intended to pick up a 22 or 23 Cayenne. I felt those prior models had a better looking interior.
But finding that generation with my ideal spec wasn't easy. After driving quite a few of the older generation, this demo 24 coupe came available at our local dealership. Taking it for a drive back to back, in my opinion, the 24 drives noticeably sooo much nicer. It’s smoother, quieter, better suspension, Bose sounds better.
BUT for the price point, the quality of the seats, Porsche needs a slap in the face. The problems that myself & other new owners are experiencing (another thread about that) shouldn’t happen. 2 weeks and mine went in for a week while a fitter took the seats out to patch up some loose netting inside. A known problem apparently.
They did fix it, it smelt like super glue for a week. Not the quality I expected but enjoyable to drive.

Thanks for all the feedback... I decided to go with the new 2024 coupe and super excited! first time ever owning a porsche and wanted to get the new car experience.

It came down to a 2023 coupe platinum edition with 10k miles vs a similarly spec'd 2024. The price difference was about $15k but i agree with the last comment that the 2024 coupe felt noticably smoother and quieter than the used 2023. Sound system also definitely better on the '24 which is important to me.

For those looking to buy 2024 Cayenne's i think you'll find good deals on remaining stock before the 2025's come in.

I went to a few local dealerships and they all had 7-10 new '24 coupes per location (and more full size Cayennes)

Negotiation went better than expected and got a 7% off msrp final price.

The market has turned again. First turn was mid-2022 when preowned prices started sinking. Now more and more reports on RL, bimmerpost and mbworld of new cars at or below MSRP.
