Default Is it the same carbon ceramic brake setup across the VAG group?

Hello guys,

We know VAG is mostly reusing similar components across different makes and similar models. I can see Lamborghini Urus, Porsche Cayenne (PCCB), and RSQ8 can be equipped with carbon ceramic brakes.

Today, I was able to compare the size of the Urus brakes and the PCCB in my Cayenne TSE. They seem to be manufactured by the same company, Brembo. They do share the platform, but do they share the carbon ceramic brake components, particularly the discs and the pads?

My friend, who owns that Urus, wants to change the discs, but Lamborghini quoted a hefty price with a Lambo tax. We thought, would it be possible to source these parts from a so-called cheaper brand, like Audi?

Looks like the other brands in VAG may share the same brakes. However, the mighty Cayenne PCCB’s stand above them as the world’s largest brakes. Therefore the Cayenne’s enormous 410mm rear disks might not be a good replacement for the Urus’s puny 370mm rear disks. 🤪

The Audi brakes, along with others listed below are the same size. Not sure if they are exact replacements.

The Bentayga, along with the Continental GT, RSQ8, and Urus have the same 440mm front disks as the Cayenne. They are all tied for the World’s Largest (front) Brakes. We then consider the rear brakes for the tie-breaker. Their rear disks are only 370mm compared to Cayenne’s 410 mm.

440mm Front / 410mm Rear — Cayenne
440mm Front / 370mm Rear — Bentayga, Continental GT, RSQ8, Urus

You can mail them to this company in Germany that can resurface the PCCB’s for a fraction of the new ones price. I read some good feedback about them

Keep us posted!
