If you take this approach and if you have an AGM 12V battery (like my 2014 911 does), then you must heed the notice tucked away in the CTEK manual under Battery Types and Settings and use the "Snowflake" setting. Otherwise, you will burnout the battery (or two in my case - luckily under warranty...)
