Hey! I'm surprised Porsche Conshohocken a) sold a car like that b) isn't taking care of you after the fact, especially as a CPO. I've dealt with Sam there and he's always been a pleasure but of course he's also in sales. I'm sorry you're going through this.

that’s really good idea, like an independent. Thing is this issue with the wiring and aftermarket is a brand new issue so I’m afraid to sign this settlement offer and have further issues arise in the future that will then need other repairs. Originally Posted by rwbern

yeah I’m beyond shocked. The level of oversight on their part is really disappointing. The whole point of paying $5k over for a CPO was not to have to deal with kind of trouble. It’s sad cause short of these mishaps I truly love the car and the drive. Originally Posted by musammir

It looks like they only want you to accept that they will no longer cover repairs for that specific issue; the rest of the car would remain covered. And the issue was caused by the installation of an after-market camera. Not really Porsche's fault (fault of the selling dealer). Not a bad resolution imo as you would only sign the release once this particular issue is resolved (shouldn't reappear).

Yes that makes sense, so I wouldn't sign it until the dealer fixes it, invoices me and then I sign and pay using those vouchers. It looks like they only want you to accept that they will no longer cover repairs for that specific issue; the rest of the car would remain covered. The 2 new problems that have come up because of the aftermarket camera are $1400, so they are wanting to pay this in a voucher form after I sign this document.Originally Posted by Shuga

Problem is, there is still an ongoing problem with the front right door: a. some wire is rattling when going over bumps b. Main speaker distorts with BASS. - This issue is has been ongoing with more than 6-7 visits to the dealership and one couldn't fix it so I had to go to a new dealership as the first one was causing even more problems: once they broke the actual panel and glued it back and the other they damaged the lock/unlock button so it stopped working.

Then why would you sign anything? I think this should 100% be there issue. Porsche and the dealer can figure it out. If not I'd sue. The car was misrepresented . It didn't go through the proper inspection. If it had they would have found the after market camera. Like I said before, theres no lemon Law on used cars in NY or PA. However the car shouldn't have passed Porsche's CPO process if it really was inspected. Originally Posted by little pharoh

Thanks for your advice! Yeah I'm speaking to a lawyer tomorrow to get a better understanding. The car was definitely not inspected, but the least they could do was own up to it. Who woulda thought Originally Posted by Shuga

I would think that by them offering you a settlement, is strongly suggesting an admission of guilt. Originally Posted by little pharoh

It's good you are talking with a lawyer... you don't have to sign anything and in this case and if I were you, I wouldn't. The agreement they sent does not seem to be favorable to you at all. This is totally on the dealer that didn't properly inspect the car and PCNA to cover the warranty that they provided.
If I were you, I would get all of the issues you've noticed and mentioned fixed under warranty and then sell the car so you can have peace of mind. You may need to do a calculation of cost for a lawyer vs. cost to fix out of pocket and make a decision there. Certainly you can negotiate to have all the known issues fixed at least, but again, I would not give up my warranty as that could impact resale. Likely once the issues are fixed the next owner will have an enjoyable ownership experience.

Personally I'd just have them void the sale and make them give me my money back. If they missed this, who knows what else they missed. The proper CPO process was not done. They most likely didn't even put the car through the process at all... Just submitted the paper work as it was a perfect used car.

Can't make any recommendations, but just want to add that my Porsche CPO experience has also been one of the worst. I'm pretty sure they did absolutely nothing to "certify" the car. Rears tires ended up being pretty much shot, front tires were completely different, battery died first day I had it and had to wait a few weeks for them to even be able to get a battery. Now I have an oil leak they refuse to acknowledge is even there even though my indy, which I trust 100x more than the dealer, has confirmed it twice. Weird wiper issues and other weird electrical stuff they can never "replicate". Pretty sure this will be my first and last Porsche.

FYI you don't have to go to the dealer that sold you the car. You can go to any Porsche dealership. For the issues you can't replicate try taking videos of themOriginally Posted by uselessinfodude
