It was the "top engine mount" aka torque strut.
Not sure how detail/DIY oriented you are - it's a short aluminum arm with rubber bushing that carries load from the engine to the passenger side chassis strut tower. It needs to be removed for spark plug service, and it sounds like the shop didn't tighten it properly, or missed a fastener.
