Can't feel the difference having Rear axel steering
#16
I honestly could not live without it. I park my other car in front of my garage leaving exactly one car length from the garage door (otherwise my front will hang over the side walk). Cayenne comes out of the garage like a champ. Backs in like a champ. Neighbors are very impressed with my driving skill. I keeps the feature to myself.

I went with the RAS on my build primarily because I’m in NYC and do lots of garage parking. I didn’t do the thermal glass because of the ez pass interference that I’ve read about and I didn’t want to have to mount it on my front plate.

Curious what kind of tires you use in NYC.. 21” all seasons or did you go with 22” summers?

I went with 21 all seasons. I also like the 21 wheel options better than the 22s. I got the spyder 21s in black to match my paint color.
Summer tires wouldn’t cut it for NYC winters and I didn’t want the hassle of changing my tires every year.

I’m reminded of the benefit of RAS when I drive through town. There is a 70 degree turn on the main road and the turn-in is sharper than my other cars (911.1, Panamera, and BMW). Could be other factors such as tires but the effect of RAS is significant to me. Could I live without it, sure but most of the options on these cars gives increment upgrades (except for the engine) on an already class leading platform.

If you can’t feel the difference, it means you don’t need it.
To me it’s obvious as soon as I started driving out of dealerships during test drive (one without PDCC and RAS and the other with PDCC and RAS which I bought at the end). Not sure about MY24 but 9Y0.1 with RAS has slightly quicker steering ratio than non-RAS rack.
On highway switching lane, you should have less steering input as the rear wheels are “helping” the car to maneuver. It’s not a porsche video but it explains well on the features and benefits of RAS.
