Default Full Leather or No

The full leather interior is beautiful. I love the stitching. I am looking for a 2020, and I have been looking at cars with full leather interiors. That said, I tend to keep my cars for a long time. I don't know how well the full leather holds up long term. I live in the Southeast and the summers are extremely hot. I do use a windshield screen cover when I park at the office. I am curious to others' experiences and opinions.
Thanks

I just sold my 3 year old Cayenne with full leather (Chalk/Graphite) and it held up very well. I too am in the Southeast. Full leather makes a huge difference in comfort and appearance.

The interior looks much better imo with full leather. There have been reports of the leather pulling away from the instrument panel, repaired under warranty by the dealer.

Exactly what we had and just sold.
Pity that the MY24 combo is not as nice and the graphite is gone.

Full leather without hesitation (unless theres a high chance that your kids/dogs could and would destroy the interior

Full leather all the way. Mine has the cohiba/truffle and it makes a huge leap in fit/finish.

Once you go full leather you can never go back.

Full leather all day, every day.

Get your windshield tinted as well, that will help.

We just bought a 2020 that had the leather dash (on both sides of the clock) delaminating and it was replaced under warranty. It was a FL car, as are we (people, not cars), and I have no idea how the car was stored or used.

Now that our kids are grown up our next Cayenne (2024) will have full leather. That plus my new 2024 992S has full leather and I can't stand the sight of the rubber dash any more. For the over $100k that even most base Cayennes cost it should be standard.

Wasn't a Cayenne, but the only thing I regretted about my first build spec (a 991.2 GTS) was failing to check the full leather box. I even had leather 18-way seats. But the lack of leather on the dash, the plasticy feel, just bugged me for pretty much all 40K miles on it.

I have two incoming cars and both have the full leather option ticked.

Seems this is the consensus.

Yes. My 997 in sand beige leather for 15 years has spent a lot of time in the sunmer in a very hot and sunny climate. Nothing has happened to the leather. Very sunny here sometimes means 6-7 months.

Same for 2020 cayenne in black-bordeaux red.

I thermal tint all the cars but even without the thermal protection the leather will not get destroyed.

Is is “essential” for the dashboard, it really changes the interior feel. Be aware if you had previous porsches in leather - with the 24 cayenne you do not get deviated stitching which was standard on most porsche models before eg with bordeaux red the black dashboard and the the uppper door panels in black leather had standard red stitching which is extremely nice and gives an even better feel. Unfortunately this has changed with the 24 cayenne.

Also note that only with bramble, mojave beige and barrique red you get the full coloured leather coverage.
