Default 2019 Pollen Filter Change...

After two years, it was time to change again. The entire job took twenty minutes, and saved me about $100+. I was impressed by how good the ac smelled after I changed it out--well worth doing.

The hardest part of the job is getting your back wedged into the floorboard looking up. Once you get in there, it goes pretty fast. I can't imagine paying anyone to do this again. Putting the passenger seat all the way back as far away from the front is very helpful.

Amazon.

8MM socket.

Red is 8MM socket, Yellow are thumb screws--you can use your fingers to remove the thumb screws.

Remove electricals

Screwdriver helps.

Panel out.

Gently pull thumb snaps down and they will click as they unsnap, after three the others just fell loose, and the door came off.

Gently pull the filter out.

Compare. OMG. I found bugs and leaves in the cells.

Put the new one in, minding the airflow arrows, and put back together.

Thanks for the detailed and easy to follow guide! We need more of these nice and well put DIY’s!

I do change the AC filter every time any of my cars are due for an oil change, regardless of its condition. The picture below was taken yesterday for an AC filter only after 5K miles of use!

Wow. You know what, you're right. I'm going to do mine every six months. I have allergies anyway and it's a cheap easy to do change. Mine was so bad two bugs fell out and a few leaves.

I installed a Porsche OEM filter, Part# PAB81943900. I paid $56 for it.

Inside the box, the filter was labeled with VAG Part# 4M0 819 439 B. It is widely available for $30. Argh! Porsche charged me over $25 just for the fancy label on a VAG part.

I’ll be buying the same filter, but with a VAG label next time.

Porsche label on the box:

Thank you for sharing. With the recent purchase of a GTS I’m looking to have maintenance diys readily available.

My theory on maintenance is becoming more along the lines of that which I cannot do I let the dealer do. But some of these services are just easy to do's. And I am disappointed that Porsche has made repairs and maintenance exclusive property where you have to buy access to the materials, and only temporarily. It's so odd. How do you maintain a monopoly on service / repairs? Well, this sure looks like how to do it, in my opinion.

I just finished doing this on my Cayenne. I also sprayed foaming cleaner through the ac blower motor to get rid of any musty smell. The pictures posted by OP were immensely helpful. I bought Corteco 49471227 blue filter from FCPEuro.

I can confirm that Mann filter FP 31 003 is the OEM filter manufactured by Mann for Porsche Cayenne.

Yes. Just did this too. Went with an even cheaper alternative filter from Amazon. Perfect fit. Thanks to the OP for the detailed instructions!
