Default Air suspension option

Hi guys,
So I placed my order without the air suspension and it’s been on my mind whether I will regret it or not. For people who driven both the normal steel and air suspension. Is it a big difference in ride comfort?

Big difference. This is just about universally agreed on this site.

I drove a turbo and a base back to back. The turbo has air suspension and PDCC and the base had neither. The difference was massive. The Turbo felt so much more comfortable, smooth, and dynamic between each mode. I’d try and add it or switch to a new build if you can.

Air suspension is MUST specially on a car of this size. I find it very comfortable on my e hybrid which has an added weight of extra battery and the moment you put it low you could feel almost 0 body roll while taking bends at decent speed. Its great fun

Added advantage of lowering at high speeds for better handling, if that matters. Agree, I’ve had with AS and without, I will always choose AS if I have a choice.

I would have Air Suspension ahead of most cosmetic options. It adds a level of refinement and comfort that I think befits a luxury SUV and don’t think there are any downsides.

Your choices are to accept the car when it is delivered, or cancel and reorder if you want air suspension. Or buy a second Cayenne!

I think the cheapest option is to keep the car for 4 years then trade in for electric Cayenne then.

Yes, you'll regret it. Add it in

I like my 21 Cayenne S with steel suspension and 20” wheels. Would I like it more with air? Probably. Am I unhappy? No. Would I rather have a Turbo? Yes. Am I unhappy? No.

For most people, there are limits to how much they want to spend. I don’t see anyone writing that the Cayenne with steel suspension is a terrible car. In my opinion, it still rides and handles better than an X5.

I currently have air suspension in my e class and when I test drive the Cayenne without air suspension it was a comfy ride. I have not tried the air suspension on a Cayenne so I don’t know how much better it is.

My Cayenne does not have the air suspension, just PASM, and is very comfortable. That said, I bought it preowned so I didnt have a choice and if I was ordering new I would tick the box for the air suspension primarily because of the ability to lower the ride height.

One of the main reasons I have sold my 2020 car and waiting for a 2024 is the air suspension. I was always thinking that the car should ride more comfortably - at the end of the day it is a family SUV. So yes i personally it is essential and worth trying to change the order.
