Default Buying Dilemma

Hi everyone, just got out of a 2018 991.2T, looking to get more of a family hauler

I have basically narrowed it down to 3 options:
1) spend $55K range, get a base 2019-2020 now and wait for 2024MY (maybe a GTS in 2025-2026 timeframe)
2) place an order (local dealer is offering $1500 off MSRP) for 2024MY and get a base but choose my own options, likely September delivery
3) splurge now and get a 2019-2020 Cayenne Turbo and keep it 3+ years ($85K range)

Would love to get everyone's opinions if they have been through this decision process before.
The other thing I was thinking is that it might be worth waiting until the 2024MY's get delivered, maybe there's a chance the 2019/2020's drop in price?

Looking at Edmunds.com and *** Automotive data, the used Cayenne market has recently rebounded a bit. I think the intro of MY ‘24 is already baked in to used pricing. As you well know, it fluctuates monthly.

It depends on how long you keep your cars. If buy-and-hold, then absolutely order a 24 with your exact options (what we did with our 21). If testing the waters, not sure a Cayenne is right for you, etc. then go with a 19-20 for a few years. Not sure why you're considering botha Base and a Turbo - different animals.

I'm curious why you got ride of the 991.2 T - I'm looking at adding a 911 and am wrestling with new vs. 991.

Turbo

Preowned market is going up or flat price-wise now. Wouldn’t expect that to change until fall-winter.

I'm thinking the Base is a short term solution (1-2 years) until the GTS arrives, then I'll order that.
The Turbo would be the "I'm going for it" type of move

I have 2 younger kids that started out fitting well in the T (2020), but now they are 11 and 8, and the back seats are just a bit too squished. Plus the sports gear is just too much for the 2 door. The T was awesome, super raw and sets you apart from the pack of normal Carreras, S's...poor man's GT3 lol

Buy the used Turbo. Maybe hedge with an extended warranty.
