Hey guys, I am looking for some opinions from some Turbo GT owners. My wife and I are building our forever home and because of that we are living in one of our rentals. The town house we are in only allows for two cars to be garaged. I just sold my 991.2 GT3RS so I am Porscheless. I always have a P car in the stable but because of the 2 car limit right now I have been driving my RSQ8. I enjoy the RSQ8 but is just isn’t a Porsche. I am annoyed with the constant electronic gremlins with the RSQ8 so I am thinking it’s time to move one. The one thing that I love about the RSQ8 is the air ride. It is a fantastic daily suv. Has anyone had an RSQ8 and Turbo GT together or back to back? Love to hear your thoughts on it as a daily. Is the Turbo GT so good anyone not have a 911 to go with it? Love to hear your experiences.
I had an rsq8 for 15 months. Around 24k miles. Best all around car I have ever owned. Hands down. No issues. Not a hiccup. I got rid of it thinking I had to when buying some property last year. In hindsight I didn’t need to. Bummer. Picked up a trx, I love the trx but i can’t stop thinking about the rsq8.
fast forward to today. I’m obsessed with the turbo gt. I like the exterior of the rsq8 better tbh but the interior of the turbo gt just gets me every time I see it. I need that crest on my steering wheel! I know it will drive similar so I’m not worried about that. My only complaints about the turbo gt is
1. No trailer hitch.
2. No massage seats with the imo better looking Alcantara interior.
For the next daily it’s either taycan sport turismo gts or the turbo gt. As of today slight edge for the turbo gt. Either one of those two paired with the touring and I’m one happy driver.
Yes, the Turbo GT is so good that I don't miss my '20 992 C4S at all.
"Jekyll & Hyde" is most apt... I commute 3hrs a day. Normal mode is plush and quiet (get the insulated glass - open the windows if you want noise). Hit the red button for spastic mode, or flip to Sport mode for fun.
No brainer get the turbo GT. Haven't looked back since I got mine. It's an SUV that is kid and wife hauler friendly but a bat out of hell when you need it to be. I also have 991.2 turbo s and the turbo GT is no slouch in terms of handling and brute power.
I have a turbo gt and have put 5k miles on it. Traded my cross turismo in after a year of ownership. Electric and ICE are very different paths. If you want convenience and ease of driving day to day, the taycan is an effortless car. I ended up missing the burbles and comfort of an ICE car. No matter what you do for some reason the electric cars just aren’t as comfortable, I think it costs them enough to build that the luxury and comfort just isn’t there.
I have had the 991.2 gt3 and Gt3rs and the 992 gt3 and still have a 991.2 targa GTS. The turbo GT fits right in, I love it. I can see myself owning this thing until the next one comes out and as long as it’s still a v8 turbo I’m in. It’s a great great car. I think it drives head and shoulders above any cayenne model.
the tires make a world of difference to, it comes with pirellis I think and those are stiff. When I went to winters it softened up dramatically. I’ll probably switch out the pirellis and go to something softer during the summer months.
I’m sure the GT is fast but still an SUV. If you buy a SUV, why loose the cargo area especially if you are building a house. Plenty of things to carry after move in day.
personally, I would either go w Cayenne Turbo S vs the GT, or a Panamera ST turbo s or 911. Apologies but don’t get the GT thing.

The GT is a wonderful vehicle to drive, and there is a big difference between this model versus the other Cayenne variants, but it's not for everyone, particularly if towing capability is needed, or one has young children that like to drink milkshakes with the alcantara interior. Here's what I like about it:
Power is instant and strong -- no lag.
Handling is great with the chassis management systems, lower center of gravity with the carbon fiber roof, and rides at a lower level than other Cayennes.
Ride is comfortable -- not too stiff: Chassis mode can be switched from comfort to sport to sport+.
Ride height is optimal for driver and passengers to enter and exit the vehicle, compared to higher riding Cayennes or lower riding 911's.
No problem clearing driveways without scraping the front -- no front lift system offered or necessary.
Reasonable cargo space.
Nice alcantara interior, with reasonably comfortable sport seats.
I took delivery of mine, early April 2022, and it's been a great experience.

It's for the same people that find the m5cs, rs6, etc interesting..
Love my Turbo GT as a daily, plenty of space for my family even with a large stroller and cargo, not a replacement for a full size SUV of course but from the sounds of it you'll love it.
I had a 22 992 TS and traded for a black on black Alcantara 23 Turbo GT. I did not regret it within seconds off the lot. No factory V8 SUV makes the distinct sound of the GT titanium exhaust. Build quality of the interior is superior to the Urus, driving experience is surgical blade precision. Less stops to fill up than the V12 SUVs.
I went through a lot of cars in the last 3 years including G63, GLE63S, Bentayga Speed, Cullinan and Urus. If you want the all around best precision SLEEPER, not attract unwanted attention, and get your family fastest to your destination in comfort … then Turbo GT.
The local 458/488/F8 Ferrari guys recognize it and that’s all that matters when they see your twin titanium pipes from BEHIND you (unless they have a SF90).
If you are worried about kids, my 2 year old unintentionally spills donuts , shakes and drinks in the backseat … that’s what kids do. He loves the drive and I am sure the Alcantara will hold up well. Just don’t put a Doberman in the back and you will be fine 😏
I picked up a 23 RSQ8 a month ago and I agree, it's the best all round car I've ever had. I simply love everything about it!
I looked at the Turbo GT, but 1) it was impossible to get an allocation, 2) the 4 seats was unworkable for me and 3) it was £30k more. That being said, I'm sure it undoubtedly has the driving edge over the RSQ8!
Thanks guys for the input. I love the looks of the RSQ8. I also like how comfortable the air ride is. But it feels like a 5,000lb car to me. I don’t love the steering feel. It just doesn’t feel nimble at all. I find it has more turbo lag than the VTG’s I put in my 991 turbo. I will say the full capristo exhaust on the Audi sounds fantastic. But after the full Dundon on the RS I don’t think anything will ever sound perfect again.
We live in a time of fantastic automobiles. I just want to try them all! I am going to go check out the one GT that’s is here in town. It will be nice to drive them both back to back. Thanks guys!
As a bit of a counterpoint- my DD gone from ‘13 M3 (dct) -> ‘18 RS3 -> ‘21 Macan GTS -> ‘22 Cayenne GTS which I recently traded in for a ‘23 RS3. Really enjoyed the Macan and Cayenne and needed the space to lug around kids gear but never quite came around to accepting the mass of either vehicle- despite Porsche’s engineering prowess. My daughter can now drive and has her own SUV (Taos) which can easily handle her and her younger brother’s crap so I no longer need such a large DD- and getting back into a smaller, quicker car is a revelation!
