Opening date for configuring’24 Cayennes?

It’s so odd the differences in how all the dealerships operate. Contacted mine the other day and was told no allocations yet and not accepting deposits or anything until it is officially announced.

I’d guess it will somewhat coincide with the X5 launch. The 2024 X5 production will start late April with first deliveries in August per my BMW dealer friend. He already has his launch edition build which cannot be modified. He has no additional allocations at this time.

I hope we are not headed towards white, black or gray and everything else is $11k+. I remember when PTS was $3k-ish.
Two things:
1. Time for some more "standard" colors--not five more grays please.
2. New dash and upgraded technology. My daughter's totaled $45 k Audi, and used Mercedes base model has more tech than my $160k Cayenne.
We know you can pilfer some of the tech from Audi. Let's do this. I'm pulling for the 2024 model.

Our good friend has a 2020 Audi A7 (prestige package) at around 81K. Inside it is a light show at night. Our 2019 $100,400 Panamera (with premium but not premium+) does not even have footwell lights at night. But Audi has a 7 speed automatic, costing less than 8- speed PDK ?
I was also wondering why Porsche places the base Pana at 93K and the base Cayenne at 73K. Is that mostly because of the PDK. The Cayenne comes with AWD and weighs more. The base Pana does come with PASM, but is 2wd, so there is less Porsche 'stuff'.
Only glaring difference (engines are the same) is the PDK versus latest 8ZF Tiptronic.

As of right now, I do not see it available. But it could come at a later date.

My wife has the Panamera, and I agree with your comments. They are sharing information and materials on the frames and who knows what else, but how hard is it to add some simple features that are fairly inexpensive, yet add great convenience and value.

I agree with both of you. However Audi's tech has always been behind. I mean even there "new" cars aren't that new tech wise. Mercedes will always be light years ahead.. Why? I have no idea. Porsche's ambient lighting is a joke My 2012 Audi A6 has the same "ambient" lighting as these new Porsches.

You could always go the MB route and get the rolling disco. That thing is so distracting. I drove an EQS a few weeks ago and went under an overpass and just about freaked out when I saw all the ambient lighting on in person. I mean, FFS they have ambient lights in the SEAT PIPING

Here’s a link to the Arctic Gray page:

Here’s a good read about Porsche colors; Porsche color history by decade, why neutral colors are prevalent today, PTS program, and more:
