Have you changed the transfer case fluid? Mine is due soon. Would you mind write some instructions? Thanks.

I am being told by my dealer that the temp sensor some of you have also had changed is not present on all models. I have a base and they say there is not a temp sensor to replace on my base model. Can anyone confirm? Thanks

The temperature sensor is a valid part for 2019 Cayenne base. PCSS indicates replacement of the temperature sensor is required when changing oil in the "transfer gear" aka transfer case aka multi-plate map-controlled wet clutch device.

VIN (from finder.porsche.com) is listed on the screenshot.

Part number with "A" suffix is listed with validity for the VIN.

The amount of discrepancy in service procedures between different dealers is surprising!
So how much they end up charging you for the transfer case oil change?

Anyone know why this sensor needs replacing when fluid is changed? I see it was also replaced when my transfer case was serviced.

It's a pretty cheaply-made looking component when it's in your hand. Maybe it was cost-reduced to the point it's lifespan is not much longer than the oil change interval. Just a guess.

From reading posts on this site, 992 also requires this temp sensor to be changed when changing driveline oil.

Has anyone confirmed if the vehicle needs to suspended with wheels moving to fill? That seems odd, most t-cases and diffs are almost always stationary fill. A bit weary of overfilling if you do it while having t case engaged.

Crawl under the car and look. No bracket to remove. Rubber vibration damper needs removed. Please read the linked DIY thread in detail.

I stationary filled but only got about .4-.5L in before it started over flowing. Anyone else have similar results? I’m wondering if the very slight angle in my garage prevented me from .6 fill as I probably didn’t get all the fluid out

Possibly. Did you measure the drained fluid volume by comparing how much went back into the bottle for disposal?

Per the service manual, you need to temporarily install the old fill screw and run the car with the wheels up in the air and spin the wheels at about 12-15 mph for 1 minute, then top up the fluid again.

When I did this the transfer case took significant additional fluid.
