e-hybrid pre-entry heater timer question?

e-hybrid pre-entry heater timer question?
i've never been able to reliably get this to work.
I've programmed the time that i would like the car to pre-heat via the app, the myporsche web page interface & even on the car PCM.
However, whether it actually comes on appears random.
I do note however that when i plug in to charge, the charge timer button above the 'plug unlock' button is on red even though i didn't programme any specific charge time; i press the latter button & charging commences.
But for some reason, the pre-heating/pre-cooling does not occur the following morning, in this scenario.
Anyone else with similar predicament?

Portable charger that comes with the car may not be compatible with timer
