Cayenne 2019 Accident, A sad starting of new year!
Gentleman,
Today was an extremely sad day, my wife was driving in the parking lot and at an intersection a careless unattentive young guy hit her from the driver side, damaging both doors, airbags pooped out from all sides.
Both doors are dislocated and the car wheels were locked, Police officer called the local Tow guy/company who took it to his covered tow yard. I am covered by Progressive with $500 deductible, the claim agent will arrange a pick from there to the Porshce Dealreship (Ray Catena, Porsche) on Monday.
Extremely sad and depressed by this incident today , We received the car on Feb 7th 2019 and it recently completed 10K miles.
Any advice will be very helpful, I do not have much experience on the procedure from here on.

Bummer, I too would be upset.
Deployment of airbags does not determine total loss, but are expensive to replace and are included in the total damage assessment of the vehicle.
Your insurance company will have the vehicle assessed to determine if the underframe is bent in addition to the obvious door damage. As a rule, the frame damage is difficult to repair and may contribute to determining whether the vehicle is totaled or not.
Good luck, I hope everything works out to your advantage.

Hopefully no one was hurt. Hopefully a police report with a written indication of fault was completed. I'd be surprised if your insurance company says it's not totaled. Best of luck.

Yes, car dialed in at Porsche Emergency Helpline who further called the Police right away.
The car will be towed to the dealership tomorrow and the surveyor will access accordingly.
Ah, even the thought of it hurts bad.

Nobody hurt, the rest is just Symantecs. Get a new Cayenne, upgrade. Other driver's fault, be sure to claim "demonition of value" if they repair it, then trade it in immediately. If totaled, move on. Good luck. No worries...

Former auto claims adjuster, a few things from my experience. Air bags deploying does not automatically total a car, they are around $3k a piece to replace depending on parts costs (which are probably more since it is Porsche). Frame damage usually only happens at higher speeds, so unlikely any here, but most insurance companies will repair frame if possible, must be repairable within 3mm of factory spec. Lastly, most large companies will total your vehicle if damage estimates are 75% of vehicle value. I did see someone mention a diminished value claim, you can do that, keep in mind it only pays out the difference of what your repaired vehicle is worth, versus one never repaired, and is only payable when you sell your vehicle. It usually ends up being a small claim, and it is up to insurance discretion on whether you actually suffered a loss in your diminished value. Hope this helps.

Best thing for you is if they total it, then you can move on and start anew. Insurance companies generally look at the cost of repair, versus depreciated value. Happened to me years ago with my wife's Lexus (parking lot issue); estimate to repair was $22K, depreciated value was $30K, insurance company did not total, and elected to repair. Actual repair cost $32K, because during repair, it became evident that there was more damage than initially estimated. A real PITA for us -- 3 months for the repair, and tough to get rid of with the CarFax and all. As far as the diminished value is concerned, it is possible to get some compensation, but good luck on that one.
It's a real shame, been there, but it's only money. Best thoughts are with you.
