I'd appreciate thoughts/opinions on paint matching of the metallics in Quartzite. Is this just plain impossible to expect? I recently had my front passenger door crunch courtesy of a non-attentive driver. Took to a Porsche certified body shop recommended by my dealer. They turned it around very fast, less than two weeks, replacing the front door with OEM, painting it and blending into adjacent rear door and front fender. The "color" match is remarkably good, I do not see a variance there at all, but (in the sun) the metallic properties are vastly different with the new paint a glitter-bomb in comparison to the very fine-grained metallics in the original paint. Not sure everyone will notice the difference in these small samples but would appreciate any thoughts. Six-month-old car ... I'm just sick though I know it could be much, much worse! Thx!
