I am getting a model without the air suspension (unfortunately as I wanted that feature). What does the standard suspension compare to vs. the air suspension ?
I have driven a lot of miles on both types of suspensions on the new Cayenne. Driving over good roads, not a major difference, maybe even feel more connected to road with standard suspension. If road is rough, adds an extra layer of insulation to the overall ride - smoother, more controlled. If towing, then air suspension makes a big difference - vehicle stays level, no rear sagging. Obviously height is adjustable with air suspension, but not a major issue unless you like the low rider look or go offload frequently. In short, both are good, just depends on what you want or like.

A bit of different perspective. My preference in this car is the standard suspension. I do wish I had PDCC & RAS though. I won't likely ever tow anything but if towing is one of the uses then you really should get the hybrid with air suspension. Side note - the 958.2 couldn't tow! The Cayenne isn't the plushest SUV but it is the most confidence inspiring. It's not harsh by any means and actually the suspension is more comfortable than my BMW 650.... I think the base suspension is the one to get.... the ride height feature is pretty cool though.
P.S. Has anyone seen the crazy bounce mode on the new GLE? It's absolutely ridiculous is an awesome way.

I have the 2019 cayenne S riding on 20's and the air suspension. I have to tell you the ride in the softest setting is incredible and it smooths out the road imperfections and bad roads like no car I've ever OWNED! Now listen when you dial it up to the stiffest setting you really can tell a difference! It's a definite difference and game changer! Car totally feels sporty and ready to carve the back roads like a sports sedan!! Don't care what anyone else says or tells you but it's worth the money and I wouldn't get the Cayenne without it but that's just my opinion! good luck!

+1 Still getting to know my 2019 CS, but my initial reaction coming from a Lexus GS F with adaptive suspension is I totally agree with this above assessment. Originally Posted by dspvend

FWIW, I am happy that my MB ML 350 did NOT come w/the air suspension that is/was available for it because one of the common problems reported for it is the failure of the air suspension which is very expensive to repair. Assume the same for any Porsches.

way too much tech, gizmos and gadgets for me. I possibly couldn’t drive that car with all the tech going on and focus on the road. Originally Posted by garfunkle
