Default Matrix Headlight Rule Update!

I just got off the phone with the NHTSA General Counsel's Office. I asked them about their proposed rule (published October 12, 2018 in the Federal Register) that would permit the use of Adaptive beam headlights (Matrix) in the US. I could find nothing about what was happening on-line, so I decided to just call and ask them. He said that the final rule is planned for publication in December 2019. That could change, of course, but at least we know that something final is coming. Each manufacturer will then have to certify that their adaptive headlight system complies with the performance standards in this final rule, but once that is done and approval given, we may see (literally) more light out of our PDLS+ systems! Thought my fellow 2019 Cayenne owners might want to know this good news. Pass it on!

Thank you for the update! Good to know that an option that I paid for is finally- maybe- put to use.
