Default Any difference between MY19 vs 20?

I was told by SA that cayennes built anytime after the factory summer recess (?August) is considered MY20 - is this correct?
Also, does anyone know whether there are any spec differences for the ehybrid between the two?

I know there are some minor additions in the options list, as well as slight price uplift but apart from this??

I can’t find any spec changes for MY2020 so I suspect other than PCM being up to date and it being more expensive there will be precious little else

I have a 2019 S and curious if they will be able to update that with a software upgrade? Anyone have any thoughts?

Without wireless charging, I'm wondering what the point of wireless CarPlay is?

I use wireless Apple CarPlay on my commute every day in my BMW 540i and I do not use the wireless charging port unless I am on a longer trip, and then I usually plug in for faster charging since I am likely to be using GPS for navigation. I do not see any significant battery drainage over my 20-40 minute/way commute from using CarPlay (not true if I am also using GPS). It is great being able to simply step in the car and go without having to worry about phone connection or charging. In the BMW, it generally takes 30 seconds or less for CarPlay to synch and restart playing from where it left off (I am generally listening to books via the Audible app).

If it isn't a useful feature (wireless charging), I wonder why BMW includes it. It seems to me when you are out on the road and hopping from meeting to meeting, any addition juice you can put in your battery would be of benefit. Not needed when you are just driving 20 minutes to your office and plugging your phone in there - I agree on that point.

It’s not the point. The two features should go hand in hand.

Many (maybe now all) BMWs have wireless CarPlay, but only higher end spec models tend to have wireless charging available as standard or an option (though it is trickling down the lineup). I suspect many people do what I do, for short-term use I keep the phone in my belt clip and don't worry about battery impact. For longer trips I tend to use a wire since the charging is faster and it leaves the phone better accessible for other uses, such as checking/writing email during stops, than it is in the wireless charging port.

Based on my experience, I value wireless CarPlay much higher on my list of priorities than wireless charging. YMMV

Is Wireless Charging a function of the "Smartphone Compartment"?
