Leather interior
Can someone explain the difference in between the standard leather/partial leather option and leather interior/leather seats option in the S model? From playing with the configurator it just looks like the difference is real leather (as opposed to the composite stuff) on the dashboard and under the trim right?
It seems like everywhere you touch, is real leather (seats, center console, the handles, and door part where the buttons are to adjust windows etc) ? Is this correct?
If the upgraded leather is only in areas where you don't touch, it doesn't seem worth the extra 3750, IMO. Thoughts?

There is an enormous difference. The standard interior has no leather other then the seats (and those may just be true leather only in the center panels) and maybe the door arm rests and padded center console top cover (though those might even be faux stitched leather as well). The rest (upper dash, lower dash, door panels, door
upper sills, center console surround, glove box, etc) are all textured synthetic material. In the leather upgrade these areas are all leather.
I personally do not mind the standard interior for its durability, especially if you are thinking of going all black then the leather upgrade might not be worth it as it does not change the overall feel all that much. But going with any of the two tone options or if you want brown, the leather upgrade is well worth the cost to give the vehicle the special interior feel ( which many would say should have as standard). Hope this helps a bit.

As Meyecul said, there's a huge difference between the standard interior and full leather. The standard interior (vinyl/plastic) is just not in keeping with a car in this class and price. I oot the two-ton Truffle/Cohiba on Carrera White Metallic exterior and it's beautiful. Full leather should be standard on all Cayenne models but Porsche never misses an opportunity to up-sell an option that should be included as standard (i.e. lane change assist, dimming mirrors, driver memory, heated/ventilated seats, etc.). Not to mention the outrageous option prices. Most of these options are included on your average Honda, Toyota or even Hyundai. I love my new Cayenne and my previous 2011 but Porsche doesn't make it easy.
Generally agreed. We've driven two base 2019 loaner Cayennes, each with the standard rubberized interior. One was beige / black; the other full black. The seats were passably okay, albeit with the aggressively textured pleather that is a dead giveaway in almost all artificial cowhide. The dash was disappointing. It was a rubbery slab of plastic that would've looked out of place in my Chevy. It screamed "cheap" in every way.
The upgraded leather package, which includes the dash and other areas mentioned, is worlds apart in luxury and feel. We test-drove a base 2019 with the full-on black leather and were very impressed with it. IMO, it's well worth the ridiculous $4K upcharge.
We decided to go Club Leather on our Turbo (Cohiba / Truffle) primarily for the color, secondarily for the quality of the hide. The leather is a creamy, butter-smooth texture that is another very discernible jump in grade. And the smell... after seven months, people still comment on it as they hop in the car. It's outrageously priced, but for us, we decided to go big. Also recommended.
