Default My new (2011 CTT) P!g !!

Hi all. Wanted to start by thanking everyone on here who helped me directly with my research and indirectly through previous threads. RL is a great resource.

I'm transitioning from a 911 to a Boxster Spyder and decided I wanted a more everyday car that worked with the family. Drove quite a few and decided on the Cayenne (I may be slightly biased). After looking at the used car prices decided I could stretch for the CTT if the right 958 came along.

I added Carmax to my search after seeing some of the results on STG's HFS thread on the 991 forum and after searching for a decent amount of time this one popped up that checked my "must haves" and had a significant number of "thought I'd never haves". An alert popped up on my phone, I checked the options online with the admin tool and called them within 10 minutes to reserve it and have it transported to my closest Carmax.

Looking forward to many years of happy driving, and again thanks for everyone's help!

So here she is, along with the build.

I might have been tracking that same car. It's amazing how easy Carmax can be to work with. Did you consider their warranty?

Very nice car. I am jealous.

Thanks! It was literally on their website for less than 15 minutes They have quite a few, and seem to be clueless on the pricing when it comes to desirable options on higher end cars.

There was a very nice, low mileage CTTS that disappeared in a very short time the other day too. Was hoping it went to someone on here.

I do think it's a little unfair that when you reserve them they become unavailable - but keep tracking them as quite often they come back as available if the person decides they don't want it.

So, yes, I decided to do the warranty. Was really unsure about that but just got it for peace of mind in case of a catastrophic event. I just had an indie do a PPI on it and no issues!

I've requested Carmax transfer on a 2015 E-Hybrid, and I totally agree that they don't seem to know what they have in options sometimes. This one has Burmester, PASM, Premium Plus, Pano roof, 20 inch RS wheels.

It has 12k miles, and it only 12 mos old, and they have it listed for $31k off its original retail.

I think that sometimes they are just trying to cover their costs.

I love the wheels. Any more than 5 or 6 spokes looks blingy to my eyes.

I am pretty confident that there is no Cayenne S with 45K miles or less on either Carmax or Autotrader at the moment that has those wheels.

Just the 3 options alone (Burmester, PDCC/PTV & PCCB's) really kicked up the original MSRP on that beast for sure.

Nice build.

Does anyone know what the E2 on the build sheet means? i've only seen it on three cars, two 2011 and one 2012.

I believe it has to do with the differences between just a "Facelift" change to a model (like when Cayenne went from the 955 up through 957 which were all E1),...
... verses a full engineering re-design like when Porsche went to the 958 (which is the E2).

Or maybe your question has more to do with why some 958 build sheets actually show the nomenclature "E2" on the build sheet,... and why some might not.
If so, I cannot help answer that.

The build sheet for my 2012 CTT matches Dalema's (shows this at the top): "2012 Porsche Cayenne Turbo E2"

Yes, that is my question. Why some build sheets show the E2 designation. Thanks for your reply.

Default Front Plate?

Wow! Great ride! Black with black trim... and turbo II wheels.

Is your front plate on a factory mount? Most plates mount to the painted part of the front bumper. I recently mounted my plate on the grill - homemade mount. Some blockage of airflow, but no change in operating temps so far...

Thanks guys. I'd forgotten I didn't post the details over here. I posted up on STG's sale thread as I wanted to do a write up on my CarMax experience. Check it out here:

Nice build.
Thanks, wasn't looking for the PCCBs (and actually almost passed on it because of them) but the inspection said the rotors had absolutely no wear. I mainly just wanted the PDCC and the Burm was a bonus.

I need to look into that, I think CarMax did that.
