Correct, this only applies to the vr6 engine in the cayenne unfortunately. The only other engines that have dipstick tubes are the 3.0 supercharged hybrid engines and the diesel and those require the adjustable dipstick as shown above.

The V8 dipstick on the 955 model went into the sump down next to the oil/water heat exchanger. I've looked in that area - and there isn't any plug or anything that would let us put a dipstick tube in. So I'd say no..

I recently purchased my new to me cayenne v6 and also a first time porsche owner. When I went over the car I was scratching my head when I saw the plug but no dipstick. I was worried to rely on the engine computer. This will help me sleep better at night, this is great
