Default 12v outlets missing

We are about to purchase a 2014 Cayenne Platinum and noticed the rear console has two holes on the lower part where we're guessing 12v outlets used to be. Should we be worried that these were removed? Is it possible to get USB ports installed there?

Are there just two holes, plugs or a blank panel?

Truth be told I think you're better off with regular accessory plugs and then using flush-fitting USB adapters. Why? Because USB sockets are fragile and low placement is asking for trouble. Better to have the socket on a removable adapter get broken instead of something that might require pulling apart the console.

My '17 GTS has both, a regular socket and one with a pair of USB sockets. I still use an adapter.

Also know you can get USB cables with right angled connectors. Handy for keeping cables from sticking out.

Moving this over to the 958 subforum since that's what is being discussed.. and the outlets were an option (perhaps included in some "package" too..) so chances are - the wiring to support them isn't in the console if it wasn't ordered during the factory build.
