I suggest idling in lazy circles around Williams-Sonoma - I think they sell a first-cold-press-extra-extra-virgin-olive-oil-and-sherry-vinegar-ABC Extinguisher that will pair nicely with smoked Cayenne.

I'd say 'smoked gouda' would be a nice addition, but that'd just be adding fuel to the fire...

Turned the car back on and the smell and smoke came back. The motor sounded normal, no messages and fluids were just topped off after recent service. I really do not know what this could be. Any input would be appreciated.
did you ever get this resolved?

Yeah the alternator was fried and caught fire somehow. Took months at two P dealers to get the burnt metal smell out of the cabin. Haven’t had any related issues since...

Thanks...I have a 2014 diesel and it just had the exact same issue. Electrical smoke/smell and now won't start

What did it cost? Was it warranty covered?

Just had this exact same issue. Alternator replaced under warranty. Interior smells like a tire fire at the moment, but will dissipate over time i'm sure

Depending on how much you like your car or payments... You can also leave it on and see if it goes up in flames, then call insurance to pay for loss.

The smell took months to dissipate because I had heat running while alternator was burning. I contacted Porsche NA and they took care of it for me. Countless hours at multiple Pcar dealers with ozone machine running.

That smell is real tough to combat. Had something like that on old car, took probably 6 months to get out fully. Get one of those "new car" smelly things. helps mask it.

I was going to mention changing the cabin air filter, but then read the ozone machine post. That's really attacking it.
