Default Hot driver footwell on 2011 Turbo

Hello everyone,

Just picked up a 2011 Turbo yesterday!

I love it and it's an absolute beast. I thought I had checked everything out but it appears I missed one thing that I discovered during a long drive.

The problem is that the driver footwell was getting pretty hot. It wasn't hot air coming through the vent as I could feel the cold air coming from the A/C there but instead the bottom right corner of the dash close to where the center tunnel connects to it. For some reason it was pretty hot there and it would heat the area around it, including my right foot!

I haven't even looked at it yet but wanted to see if anyone had encountered anything similar or if there are recommendations on what to look out for. This is not noticeable on a short drive but was really an issue on a longer drive.

Once I get the car cleaned up I'll post an introductory thread with photos and my thoughts but here are a couple of pics for now.

Nice looking ride.

I had an initial heat issue. Have a look at this and maybe that is the problem: https://rennlist.com/forums/porsche-...ng-cooked.html

Thank you for the link!

I'll have to check that and see if I'm having a similar issue. Thanks again!

I used a flashlight to shine through the vents and saw the little sensor was properly installed.

Guess I'll start looking at the servos and actuators next. Although again on shorter drives it's not a problem, just on a longer trip does it become an issue.

I found the problem, now to figure out a solution.

I got under the dashboard and turned on the HVAC system. Even when I turned on just the dash vents I noticed a bit of a draft down on the footwell. I stuck my hand between the bottom dash cover and the center tunnel and found that air is blowing in there freely. I thought it should only be blowing out of the vents, shouldn't it?

If it shouldn't be, what should I check for and how should I fix it? Or is this something where I should just take it to my dealer?

Thanks again!

That's a dealer fix if you have a warranty. It's sounds like climate control servo motor for the actuator.

It's an easy fix on the 911's. Don't know about the cayenne's but I'm gonna say not too hard of a fix. The part should run around $275.

Thank you, I do too which is one of the things that struck me about the vehicle when I first saw it. It really has a stance the way I think an SUV from Porsche should have. I hadn't driven it all week since it is officially my wife's car (I instead drive the 996 daily) but I was the driver when we went out for dinner last night and again this vehicle leaves me impressed with its performance and looks.

13 Cayenne S. I'm having the same problem of the driver's side footwell heating up (in the Florida summer!!!). So I rubbed my hand on the footwell cover under the steering wheel and yes, it's hot. Further, according to other drivers, it seems like a temp sensor fault. So I'll investigate and hopefully solve, then post my results.
