Default Just installed turbo front bumper on 958 diesel

As the title says, I bought and my mechanic installed the new front bumper from a turbo but an issue came up with the day lights. The light they emit is barely visible and when I open my regular lights, they shut completely while they should just dim. I also get a message to check both of the day lights once I open the regular lights.

Any ideas?

Are the original DRLs incandescent or LED lamps? The current needed to operate the 2 is not the same.

Is this for a .1 or .2? If it's a .2, I can't help.

If it is a .1, did you replace the headlights too? If so, then you need a Porsche dealer (anyone with a PIWIS tool actually) to recode the vehicle to use the DRLs in the new headlights.

If not, then you need to modify the wiring harness in the bumper to get the light bars to act as DRLs. When acting as DRLs, they will be dimmer than the original light bars. Look me up on 6speedonline and I have a DIY linked in my signature about how to build an adapter to make the bars act as DRLs. You just need to (or find someone that can) build a set of two and then plug them in between the bars and the wiring harness.

Both versions of the 958.1 signal bars are LED. The Base/diesel/S/Hybrid version has an extra row of brighter LEDs for the DRL function.

It's a mystery to me how a P Tech stays current on the year to year updates.
Keeping track of the documentation needed to support the updates is a job in itself.

Paging through the 957 schematic I would be very hesitant to perform mods associated with the electrical system.

I work in the robotics field where motor controllers communicate through a CAN buss (similar to the Cayenne). Diagnosing faults can be a nightmare.

They don't bother to troubleshoot. They just replace the module they think is the source and if that does fix it, they move to the next most likely module.

God help your wallet if you are out of warranty and there is a fault in the bus itself
